This poem, In memoriam II: The Draper, was the fifth most-read item - across all categories - in The Irish Times on the day of publication and resulted in a furore of social media commentary. After a long absence, while pursuing a business media career, Anne 'came home to poetry' while grappling with her grief after her mother's death - her first poem as an adult was published in The Irish Times in 2016.
She has won poetry awards in Ireland, the USA, the UK, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia, most recently American Writers Review 2021 - see Awards.
Over a 30-year career, she has worked as a business journalist, writer, magazine editor, media communications director and legal author. She is author of four books of poetry and has served as Vice President of Voices of Women Incorporated, a not-for-profit literary and performance arts initiative guest editor of Not Very Quiet Journal and as Senior Poetry Editor for the two literary journals of Swinburne University in Melbourne - Other Terrain Journal and Backstory Journal from 2017 to 2020. Anne has served on numerous editorial advisory boards and is a founding member of Irish-Australian women's arts ensemble, The Prankqueans.Īnne's writing and poetry are widely published internationally and rank in The Irish Times newspaper's Most-Read. She is also a contributing author to anthologies, From Under the Bridges of America, Natural Spirit, Pawsitively and The Innocence of Children. Her work appears in several literary and e-zine magazines, including Loch Raven Review, Hudson View, Poet Express, Scorched Earth Publishing, Westward Quarterly, Survivor's Review �and Kaleidoscope. Subsequently, she compiled her poetic pieces, and books: Soul Whisperings: Poems for Victorious Living and Innermost Journey: Poems for a Lifetime emerged. Believing the general public would benefit from her wisdom-filled poetry, fellow poets encouraged Nanette to publish her poetry collection.
